St. John's Church Open Doors.

"Open Doors" began with a vision to literally open and use the big west door entrance of St. John's Parish Church more often than just at weddings. For much of the year it had remained sealed on the inside with masking tape to prevent draughts.

One idea led to another and it was felt necessary to include toilet, office facilities and community space at the west end.

With the help of the Penistone and District Community Partnership we successfully obtained funds from the Rural Target fund.

The facilities are now all up and running and many local organisations and the community at large are benefitting from the improvements.
